This picture shows a control tube assembly all the way
from the CS-102 on the front to the MKCS-124 on the back. The control
stick assembly is fitted, as is the universal joint, CS-109 and CS-118, etc.
The tubes are not drilled yet but I did this sort of thing a couple of times
to make sure I had everything assembled correctly |
 |
Here's a closeup shot of the CS-109 with a control system
bearing installed and the CS-102 that runs to the elevator control horn. |
 |
Same parts from the other end. Visible here are the
bearing that mount in the firewall, from the Cozy Girrrls and called
Bearing Assembly,
Firewall. Also visible here is the MKCS-124 assembly, already
affixed to the CS-122 tube. |
 |
Both units assembled and ready for fitting and
installation. CS-102s are to the side and also ready for fitting and
install.
Note that I've labeled all of these parts with tape and a marker.
Trust me, if you don't you'll get confused and end up assembling stuff
backwards or similar.
Parts naming doesn't help either - do you know what the difference is
between a CS-121 and a CS-122? Sheesh. |
 |
Close up of the CS-116 with taper pins installed.
This picture belies the time it takes to get all these set up to drill,
drilled, then reamed for a proper taper pin fit.
Let's say this though - it's worth it. These bearings are silky
smooth and that combined with zero-slop taper pins should make the controls
smooth and crisp. |
 |
One more shot of the assembly, this time with weights on
the CS-109 and CS-118 parts to help them still while I play with the control
sticks. Again, silky smooth and zero slop. Awesome! |
