Nosewheel Refurbish

If you compare the Gerdes nosewheel to the main gear wheels from Matco, well, there's no comparison.  This thing just doesn't look like something I should mount on my plane, with all due respect to the manufacturer.

When I heard the Cozy Girrrls were doing refurbishments of these wheels, including some basic machining/truing, installation of a bearing spacer, etc. I said sign me up.

So, I took some 'before' shots of the wheel so I could compare.  Nothing too fancy here, just a shot of the wheel from a couple of angles so we can do the comparison after it comes back.
I was told on Friday the wheel is done, cost me $68.50 with shipping.  I sent my check out on Saturday, along with the release.  I hope to have pictures up here in the next week of the finished wheel.
Wow!  Looks great.  I finally got around to posting the pictures I took when the wheel came back.
Yes, the other side looks just as good.
But here's the important part, that little spacer that goes in between the bearings.  Precision machined to be the right width to allow the bearings to stay snug and parallel.  The wheel also comes back with a page of instructions on how to renew that fit once the bearings wear a bit, if needed.
Nice work, girrrls.....
